www.scubadivergirls.com 8 of San Diego’s Scuba Diver Girls met Liz from Deep See down at La Jolla Cove! She brought boots, hoods, and gloves for the girls to try out on the dive to the kelp forest. The girls had a blast! The kelp was beautiful and a sheep crab crawled right up SDG Stephanie’s arm! We would like to thank Deep Sea for keeping hands, feet and heads warm on the dive!

The Scuba Diver Girls Dive the Lobster Shack

The crew of the Horizon took them to the Lobster Shack for the first dive where they see tons of sea stars, some HUGE sea hares, moray eels and sea lions. This was truly a beautiful site!

Scuba Diver Girls Snorkel with the Sharks!

www.scubadivergirls.com Margo and Stephanie decide to snorkel by the Marine Room in San Diego because this is the time of the year for the leopard sharks! Off they went to see the sharks, which are normally in the sand but today they were in the shallows next to the cave. And when they found them…they REALLY found them! They come to this area every August to have their babies! Looks like moms were all dropping off their sharky babies at sharky day care today! What a BLAST!

Scuba Diver Girl Stephanie and the Vandenberg

At the beginning of November the Scuba Diver Girls decided to head to Florida to do some diving. Tropical Storm Ida rearranged those plans on the SDGs. Scuba Diver Girl Stephanie headed off to Key West to see if there was diving going on before Ida got too close and perked up. She found Captain’s Corner Charters (great crew, boat, and prices) down there heading out to the Vandenberg Wreck (artificial reef). The water was a bit choppy, the current very strong, and visibility was only about 80-90 feet (only!). The Vandenberg is such a large ship that even with two dives she saw only about 1/3 of the wreck. Worth the trip!

www.scubadivergirls.com Scuba Diver Girls welcome a new member, Neta! The girls dive on June 12th 2009 and have a great time! It was a little murky going down, but once down…we saw incredible marine life! But the best thing? We got up close and personal with an 8ft shark! We followed her for about 5 minutes…the video isn’t too clear due to visibility so watch carefully! Margo was no more than 10 feet away the entire time! AMAZING!

This edit was too gory for Metacafe. No need for comments like “Well, you kind of deserved it” because I already know that. It’s a huge buzz feeding Morays and things, and I was trying to get some good shots. Some shots are a little shaky as sometimes I’m holding the camera with one hand. My buddy took the actual shot where the Moray has a hold on my thumb, the first time she’d ever held a camera. Original Music.
