I’d like to become SCUBA certified in the future and I ‘d like to know what the process is of scuba diving, and the process of obtaining certification. Also, the air tanks used in scuba diving look heavy so how can you swim and move around under water with heavy tanks?

Scuba diving is something I have wanted to learn for a long time. I’d really like for a friend to take lessons with me, but my friends are either too busy or not interested in learning to dive. So I’d be starting totally on my own, not knowing any other divers. Can you give me some tips on getting started and meeting others to dive with?

Specifically, we’re staying at The St. Lucian (Rex Resorts) in Rodney Bay, Reduit Beach, Castries, St. Lucia. I enjoy snorkelling and Scuba diving and was wondering whether anyone knows what this place is like for reef, marine life etc.

Any useful links are also appreciated.

I know this is asking a lot but I would prefer that the resort be in or near the Carribean, Virgin Islands, (E.) Mexico, etc. I would prefer an all-inclusive resort (extra $ for golf & SCUBA is ok but it should be at or near the resort). I am looking for a large group vacation (20-40 people), 1/2 are avid golfers and 1/2 are divers, so both activities should be average quality or better. THANKS
